So one password gets used in a few places, or a base password gets a number stuck on the end. It works fine until a website you signed up for years ago and forgot about gets breached — a forum, a shop, a service that no longer exists. That breach becomes a list. The list gets traded. And then software works through the list, trying that email and password against banks, email providers, and shopping sites, at machine speed.
That attack doesn't care how good your antivirus is. Nothing was installed on your computer. Somebody simply logged in as you, with your password, because it was correct.

Every account gets its own long, random password that you never have to know. They live encrypted in your vault, and they fill themselves in on the devices you use — computer, phone, tablet. You remember one master password and nothing else.
The point is not convenience, although it is more convenient. The point is that a breach at one site stops being a breach everywhere, because no two accounts share a password.
